Ingredients

Serves : 2
  • 1 cup regular rice


  • 1 cup Par boiled rice


  • 1/2 cup split urad daal


  • 1/4 cup thick poha


  • 1/2 tsp fenugreek seeds


  • 3 1/2 cup water


  • 2 tsp salt


  • 3/4 cup coconut


  • 1 tbsp fried gram


  • 2 green chili


  • 1 inch ginger


  • 1/2 tsp salt


  • 1/2 tsp cumin

Directions

  • Pick and rinse both the regular rice and par boiled rice.
  • Rinse poha and add in to rice.
  • In another bowl , rinse urad daal and fenugreek seeds.
  • Add water. Mix well. Cover and soak rice and poha for 4 hours.
  • Soak urad daal with fenugreek seeds for 4 hours.
  • Now drain urad daal and rice both.
  • Crush in mixture grinder make a fine paste.
  • Add salt and cover for 4 to 5 hours in warm place.
  • Grease idli mold with oil.
  • Pour batter in molds and steam idli in steamer.
  • Steam for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • In a chatni jar add coconut , ginger , garlic , cumin , fried gram and chili also salt.
  • Add 1 tbsp water and crush in to mixture.
  • Blend till smooth paste. Serve hot idli with chatni
